Hibernation.

Friday, January 30, 2009 | 0 Comments

I think it's time for me to hibernate for awhile. Let this steamy chaos cool down first and then I'll write again. I still write in my private journal in which I could be totally free and doesn't have to worry that my words might offend somebody.

Finishing my exams doesn't mean I'm less busy. I might even be busier! I've got a lot of things to get done before my departure on February 13th, including taking out my wisdom teeth. Good thing all the immigration stuff is finished.
One thing that made me slightly upset is my family. I'm so sad to leave them, especially my grandparents. My mom told me that both of my grandparents are more nervous than I am about this "trip" (I'll call it trip because I will eventually be back.) They're afraid that they won't see me again. No, not me, they're afraid that they'll die before seeing me again. And you know what, I was thinking the exact same thing. I'm afraid that if something happens, I won't be there. And it will definitely hurts to know that I can't be there in such a situation. I seriously love them to death.

Stay tune.

Lack of updates

So, so, sorry.
I'm so busy with final exams.
I hope I could write soon ;)

quick words:

those crazy people who demonstrates almost every week
WAKE UP PEOPLE! just destroying things. why don't you do something productive instead? or at least give the solution to the problem.
you're destroying your country for god's sake. its your country thats dealing with all the loses.
shut up with your reason such as defending your religion, its effing not. you're making a wrong, effing wrong, impression of our religion.

seriously people think about it.
Last Monday was my last class of Computing. Unlike any other subject, I don't think this needs a revision. So, Winda and I decided not to do the past paper exam and just open the book at some page and pretended to read it. We came across a map of United States. And then... there's one state, MS. I asked Winda "What's MS?" "thenameofacertainsomeone" "Hahahaha, no seriously." she couldn't answer so we tried to remember but nothing came up. And then we had this idea...
We list all of the states and see which one is missing. So we did. I think the lecture is quite impressed to see us do some work. Although he didn't know that the work we've done has NOTHING to do with his subject.
So came this list:
At the moment, we've listed all states except MS. (We continued this list at break time). We refused to eat until we figured out what MS is. And we  won't try and search it in google because that's "giving up". We think hard, and Winda yelled "MISSISIPI!!!"
After the mystery is solved, we ate peacefully. And even forgot to study for the test after the break ;)

And the title is right, this is the most interesting thing that happened to me on Monday. And yes, my life is that boring.
1. Glitter tattoos
2. Potatoes (Soup, mashed, fried, baked)
3. Vanilla latte
4. Movies
5. Clowns
6. Balloons
7. Laughter
8. Babies
9. Seaweed

last, but not least, my family.

a life for me now is very enjoyable.

My feelings exactly:

Now she's forgiven the harms of her past
She'll take a message somewhere it will last
She fails where she fails but she's trying
And growing up fast

Echoes climbing back
What's this
Hit or miss attack
You missed it
She's got white lights on her face
From the bad days
That she just can't erase
And her sad eyes are replaced
With the new life in a beautiful place

And this is the pattern
And this is the stone
This is the past she knows she can run from
This is the place she's been in since she was born

Hey you guys, I'm sorry I've been missing out this couple of days. I'm just always too tired for some reason, but I assure you this is a good kind of tiredness. Campus is getting more and more hectic due to the final exam that's just around the corner, assignment this, mid test that, class room test, and everything. Can you believe that it's only 34 more days until I move to Australia? No, I actually cant. Time is flying by so fast, faster than before!
I watched Yes Man last night, I thought it was a very good movie. I do have something more to say about that film, but, meh, my fingers are still sore from all the lifting today, so maybe some other time.
I have to end this post right here because I have to help my mom and grandma to clean my grandma's house for tomorrow's family gathering. As the host, we have to make the place comfortable for the guests ;)
I'll write to you later when all this tiredness has passed :) I'm still gonna do quickie updates from twitter though, it's faster and not so much chit chat.

Wide awake

Wednesday, January 07, 2009 | 0 Comments

People, people, I've made a second blog! Please kindly check it out :)

Hows your sixth day in 2009? Mine was great!
I made a new record. As you probably know already, I have a wee bit trouble with sleeping. A few months ago I didn't sleep for 25 hours, and I thought that's the longest I could go on without sleeping, but I was wrong!
I didn't sleep for 30 hours yesterday, and it's all because of Economics! Well, not really that's just a reason I used so it seems like I actually have something to do. In the morning I went to Dunkin Donuts and bought myself (and Sasha too) a cup of hazelnut latte. So, my drive to campus was accompanied by a cup of hazelnut latte and Taking Back Sunday's Louder Now with maximum volume. Class went by slower than usual, it seemed to me that the lecture was explaining the whole book instead of one chapter. My friends are glad because after class they could sleep, well not for me. Gym was patiently waiting for me to come back after a week of holiday. So, yeah, I went to the gym. To my surprise, I wasn't even tired at all! And I wasn't hungry either! Of course it surprised me because I haven't had any breakfast or lunch. The only thing that filled my tummy is that delicious hazelnut latte. (Yes, I am "healthy").
I got home at 3, and went to sleep immediately until 10.30 p.m and now I'm wide awake. Hahaha. I don't think I will be sleeping again, I have to be up and running at 5.30 and that means 2 more hours.

Hmm

"... And that wasnt the end of it. There are always those who take it upon themselves to defend God, as if Ultimate Reality, as if the sustaining frame of existence, were something weak and helpless. These people walk by a widow deformed by leprosy begging for a few paise, walk by children dressed in rags living in the street, and they think, "Business as usual." But if they  perceive a slight against God, it is a different story.
Their faces go red, their chest heave mightily, they sputter angry words. The degree if their indignation is astonishing. Their resolve is frightening.
These people fail to realize that it is on the inside that God must be defended, not on the outside. They should direct their anger at themselves. For evil in the open is but evil from within that has been let out. The main battlefield for good is not the open ground of the public arena but the small clearing of each heart.
Meanwhile the lot of widows and homeless children is very hard and it is to their defense, not God's, that the self-righteous should rush."

Living in 2009

Saturday, January 03, 2009 | 5 Comments

Hello you!
How's your third day in 2009? Mine's really well :)

I got to see Bedtime Stories yesterday. Despite the fact that the theater was really, really cold, and I got the front row seat (which was totally fine if it was a concert), I loved it! That's what I call creativity. Talking of creativity, Winda and I went to a cd store today. Winda saw a cd by our local band and she said "This is what I call 'a lack of creativity." The background color is red. The band's name is written in blue using, I suppose, Lucida Grande (Open your ms. word) and the title used italic Century Gothic. The picture? There's no picture, except a silhouette. Yes, yes, very imaginative.
The main reason Winda and I met at Pondok Indah Mall was to work on our economics assignment. And here's the result of our 'work':

Photobucket

Yes, we made 0 progress.

Now, for the past week, I've been listening to Anberlin, Blueprints For The Black Market. I now really believe that there's not even 1 song, ONE song, I didn't like. Zero, Nol, Nihil.
I'm so excited to tell you that I'll be attending Australian Soundwave '09! Anberlin, Valencia, Forever The Sickest Kids, Bayside, and Say Anything? Big yes! All I have to do is wait for Taking Back Sunday and Every Avenue. Which I hope will be very soon ;)

Oh, and Winz, you ARE right, God really did show me that he's not worth crushing. He is so not worth the time! He's a mess! Besides his good looks and you know what. But I'll keep writing for literature's sake.

I'm now in a position where I'm content with my own life.
The world is not against me. It's helping me.

Hello!

Thursday, January 01, 2009 | 0 Comments

If you read this (and live around Asia/Australia, its 12:46 am), that means that you have made it to another year. 2009.

Many, many, many things had happened in the last 365 pages of our book of life. The happy, the sad, the expected, and the unexpected. I trust it was for the best, maybe the bad times taught you something, maybe the good times made you appreciate life, maybe the expected made you thankful, and maybe the unexpected made you a lot closer to God. But, overall, it brought you to 2009.

For me, the half year of 2008 is the highlight of the year. Graduating, and everything. I couldnt be anymore happier to graduate junior high, and went straight to college foundation. It was one of the proudest moments of my life.
the rest of 2008 made me realize how important my family is. For some reason, when I started college, I became a lot closer with my mom and dad. Especially my mom. We did almost everything together, and I didnt mind at all. I went with my family on the weekend instead of my friends and I realized that they're the true ones I can count on. The problems my family faced this year seemed to brought us even closer than we've ever been. The trip to Yogyakarta (my grandfather's hometown) couldnt be any better. We're so proud of my family. and I can tell that they're too proud.
It's very clear now that I really, really, really am going to miss them when I moved to Australia. The jokes, the chaos, and everything.

Well, I'm just going to keep on praying that I will be ready to face whatever God has placed in the future.

God bless us, and HAPPY NEW YEAR.

from my family...

to yours...

edit: I found an old chat from an old friend, and he has a part of my year with him

* says : the age difference never mattered once i grew to love you
* says : i knew i could talk to you about anything
* says : sometimes you realise that love is not to be taken for granted
* says : mmwwaah

If you read this, thank you very much, you have no idea how happy it was for me to know someone like you. If only you know I'm going to be so much closer to you now...
